The Sanskrit word “Panchakarma” means “Five Actions”. Panchakarma, the comprehensive ayurvedic therapy for ultimate mind-body cleansing, involves five types of ayurvedic therapeutic measures to detoxify and rejuvenate the body and successfully eliminate disease and balance the doshas. The five traditional therapies of Panchakarma are:
Vamana= Therapeutic Vomiting
Basti= Herbalized oil enemas
Nasya= Nasal irrigation
Raktamokshana= Blood Letting (no longer practiced today)

Panchakarma is an immersive experience that requires the participant to take 5-21 days of the full treatment which includes the above-mentioned steps. When these steps are traditionally followed, brings the completion of panchakarma in a sense of deep body detoxification.
