Shilpika Devaiah is a 200 hour yoga teachers training certified instructor in Hatha Yoga from the renowned Sivananda Ashram, India. She has also conducted yoga workshops around India & Sri Lanka.
She offers 3 services as a part of the Yoga Shilpi course which is as below. Each session will be for 1 hour with 45 minutes of yoga practice followed by 15 minutes of pranayama/meditation. She also accepts group bookings with a maximum of 15 students in a batch.
Hatha Yoga is a branch of yoga derived from the Sanskrit terms "ha" meaning "sun" and "tha" meaning "moon." Classes will start out relaxing with a focus on centering through the use of pranayama (breathing) or short meditations, then move onto warming up the body through sun salutatations before progressing through the rest of the poses.
Ashtanga Vinyasa is a potent form of Hatha Yoga. The method integrates breath, movement, gaze and posture to open up the experience of the body, and to encourage the currents of our creativity to flow. Though it can be demanding, Ashtanga can be practiced by nearly anyone.
Meditation is a simple practice available to all, which can reduce stress, increase calmness and clarity and promote happiness. Meditation techniques are included with the yoga classes.
