Holy Basil - Tulsi aka "The incomparable one"

Tulsi has a lengthy, healthy list of fantastic medicinal properties ranging from immune-boosting property to adaptogenic to fighting bacteria and viruses, it also soothes respiratory ailments and not to forget the sense of calmness it gives when you consume tulsi and much more.

In Ayurvedic medicines, tulsi is used in the preparation of many tonics and used in Ayurvedic churna (dry herbs in powder form)

Ingredients

* 12 Tulsi (holy basil)

* 1/2 Lemon , squeezed

* 2 inch Ginger , (adjust)

* 4 teaspoons Honey * 2 cups of water


Method

1. To begin making the Ginger-Holy, wash and clean the ginger thoroughly. Then slice it without peeling. The peel of ginger is rich in nutrients

2. Take water in a saucepan and bring it to boil

3. Add the sliced ginger and boil for 2-3 minutes again.Then keep on simmering for 3 more minutes

4. Now add tulsi (holy basil) leaves and put into the simmered ginger-water

5. Turn off the heat, cover the saucepan and let the ginger-holy basil be on boil for 2-3 minutes

6. Next, strain in serving cups. Drizzle honey, squeeze lemon juice and give a quick stir. Serve hot
