Amla (Indian Gooseberry) - The Ayurveda Super Food

Have you heard of Amla before? Or maybe Triphala? Amla/Amalaki is a stand-alone herb in a herbal blend of Triphala and a spice for culinary purposes

Let's talk about the Ayurveda properties of Amla. It has a sour taste in predominance but also has all the other four flavors. What makes this fruit interesting is that it gets converted to sweet taste after digestion, cold in potency, and pacifies all three doshas. 🌿


I have been feeling a little loss of appetite and its summertime. For that reason, i had to prepared a drink that can boost my cravings and cool off the summer heat. 


I chose

  2. 𝐂𝐮𝐦𝐢𝐧 & 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐞𝐲𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐲- To increase appetite as both serve has digestive herbs

  3. 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀- mint's stimulating and inspiring nature is a traditional remedy for indigestion. It is a carminative, meaning that it both prevents and facilitates the release of gas

  4. 𝗗𝗿𝘆 𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 -It is useful in aiding digestion, enhancing appetite, pacifying stomach disorders and maintaining joint health and respiratory system health

  5. 𝗦𝗲𝗮 𝘀𝗮𝗹𝘁- In the summer, this salty drink is a gentle way also to promote hydration


Directions

  1. Add all ingredients to tall glass.

  2. Pour in one cup room-temperature water.

  3. Stir with fork or mini whisk.

  4. Adjust seasonings and water content to taste.

  5. Enjoy!

Pro Tip: For folks who love extra tang, add a teaspoon of organic lemon or lime juice to the mix!
