Integrating Ayurveda in Everyday Life: Seasonal Regimen

Ayurveda translates to "knowledge/science of life," and the principles of this ancient wisdom remind us to connect back with the universe as it suggests that the entire web of life is intricately braided. Ayurveda is a unique science that emphasizes physical and mental well-being and incorporates spiritual, social, and environmental aspects.

Keeping the concept of Ayurveda as a guideline, we have put together this Ayurveda lifestyle workshop. This Ayurveda workshop will help you integrate Ayurveda into your daily life and aims to preserve life and restore health and well-being. You'll discover ways to modify diet, lifestyle, asana, and pranayama to maintain balance during seasonal changes and periods of stress. Seasonal transitions are the perfect time for physical, mental, and spiritual tune-up. From there, we'll create a daily balancing routine and then jump into building peace and clarity for the mind.

This workshop will also preview our upcoming Ayurveda and Yoga retreat planned for 9/2-9/5 at the Hope Spring Retreat nestled in the beautiful Appalachian foothills.

Outline:

Introduction to Ayurveda: 2:30 hrs The concepts of tridosha - the paramount of Ayurveda. Discussing Individual dosha and natural state of being. Yoga asanas for individual dosha types. How to apply the Ayurveda principle in everyday lifestyle. Discover the connection between dosha imbalance and disease. Learn how to bring balance through diet and lifestyle Explore a great way to care for yourself with Daily Routine Get familiar with the seasonal routine self-care Dosha specific tea sampling Dosha specific treats

Things to bring: Yoga mats, bottle of water and a notebook and pen.

Meet Your Host: Shilpika Devaiah

Ayurveda Physician, Yoga Instructor

Shilpika Devaiah is the owner of Ayur-Shilpi Ayurveda & Wellness and a certified Ayurveda doctor through NAMA (National Ayurvedic Medical Association) and AAPNA (Association of Ayurvedic Professionals of North America) organizations. She received her Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine, and Surgery (BAMS) which is a 5-year program from Rajiv Gandhi University Of Health Sciences, Bangalore, India, and Diploma in Panchakarma from Ayurdhama Ayurveda Hospital and Yoga Retreat Center in India. Shilpika also has a 200 hour Yoga Teachers Training Certification from the renowned Sivananda Yoga Ashram, India specializing in Hatha yoga. She is also certified as an Ayurveda Yoga Therapist by NAMA.
